Trial stays are your responsibility
Trial stays are short by design: 1 day to 2 weeks — a simple way to test the fit. This is not an employment contract and not a rental or lease agreement. Our Trial Stay Agreement is just a simple template and safety guide for people who want one — not legal advice. We are an introduction service: we help people find each other, nothing more. After a match, what happens next is up to the two of you. Laws differ from state to state, so check your own state's laws.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homestead Exchange Network is not liable for the actions, conduct, or statements of its members, or for any loss, injury, or damage arising from matches, trial stays, or use of this website. You use this service at your own risk.
Who can join
You must be 18 or older to become a member. Memberships are for individuals and households; you are responsible for everyone included in your application.
Membership does not guarantee a match
Paying for membership gives you full member access: browsing listings, questionnaires, matching, and the trial agreement. It does not guarantee you will find a match. Every outcome is different — it depends on the people involved, timing, availability, and fit. Membership fees are not refunded solely because a match was not found.
What we are
Homestead Exchange Network is an introduction service. We help landowners and homesteaders find each other through questionnaires, references, and trust badges. We are not your employer or agent, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with another member.
Privacy notice
What we collect: your questionnaire answers, your references' contact details, and your membership information. How we use it: to review your application, speak with your references, process your membership, and match you with other members by hand. What we show publicly: your profile photo, first name and last initial, your general region, and your trust badges. We never publish your phone number, email address, or exact location. We share your contact details with another member only when arranging an introduction you have agreed to. We do not sell your personal information. Reviews
After a trial stay or an ended arrangement, members may leave an honest review of each other, and reviews appear on member profiles. Reviews must be truthful and based on your own experience. False statements and harassment disguised as reviews are not allowed, and we may remove reviews that break these rules.
