What kind of arrangement fits you?
Every match is different. Here are the kinds of stays and help our members arrange:
- Short trial stays — a few weeks to test the fit before committing to more.
- Seasonal stays — spring planting through fall harvest, or winter caretaking.
- Long-term stays — six months or longer, a real home base on the land.
- Land caretaking — looking after a property while the owner is away.
- Elder help and companionship — non-nursing support for older landowners.
- Help exchange — lending a hand with gardening, animal care, repairs, or daily tasks in exchange for housing.
- Learning stays — new homesteaders gaining hands-on skills alongside experienced landowners.
Trial stays run 1 day to 2 weeks — a simple way to test the fit.
Never guess expectations. Every member receives our structured trial agreement covering exact chore hours, living arrangements, duration of stay, and personal boundaries so both parties stay safe. A handshake isn't enough when your land and livelihood are at stake — put it in writing, and make sure both sides hold a copy.
